Highlights of 2022

The homes.co.nz team are thankful for all the support from our agents and users and are looking forward to what 2023 brings.

With prices starting to cool throughout the year, 2022 was another turbulent year for the NZ property market. The Median HomesEstimate decreased by 12% p.a on average in most of our main centres. Wellington was the standout performer with the median HomesEstimate decreasing by 20% p.a to $996K.

Dunedin’s Median Homes Estimate dropped by 12.6% p.a bringing the price to $595K in December. Invercargill came out with the lowest Homes Estimate in the country coming in at $442K.

Remuera had the most viewed property sale of 2022 onsite however, Herne Bay ended the year as the country’s most expensive suburb.
