Auckland is growing on the fringes, but not fast enough to keep up with the enormous demand. Fringe suburbs like Silverdale have more than 90% of stock built since 2010. Inner suburbs by contrast like Ponsonby & Grey Lynn have less than 1.5% of its housing stock built since 2010.
New builds are concentrated in the Selwyn & Waimakariri Districts. Brand new developments like Pegasus have over 95% of its housing stock being built after 2010. Redevelopments & revitalisation in areas like Rolleston have them growing with 41% of stock being built after 2010.
